For GM / General Motors. The manual shaft roll pin in the 6T40 and 6T70 is very difficult to access and cannot be removed with conventional tools while the transaxle is in the vehicle. DT-48550 clamps on the roll pin and uses a small short-throw slide hammer to pull out the pin in the tight confines of the engine compartment radiator area. This eliminates removal of the entire transaxle and cradle assembly to replace an electro-mechanical component, the internal mode safety (IMS) switch.
