Whenever the skip-shift solenoid is serviced, it must be torqued to 40 N-m (30 lb-ft). The solenoid is mounted to the transmission at an angle in a recessed area near the top-mounted shifter. Although the rear cross member must be removed and the rear of the transmission lowered for access, DT-49293 fits over the body of the solenoid, and allows it to be removed and installed without removing the transmission from the vehicle.
